Following is the list of Optional Items and Features that you can add to your water maker along with some details about the features: how they work, why you would want them (or not) and our general design philosophy.
Push Button Fresh Water Flushing
$175
All water makers need to be fresh water flushed both after each use and then at an interval of about 5 days when not in use. This option allows you to use the electrical rocker switch on the remote panel to open a solenoid, as shown above, and flush your membrane without having to turn a hand-valve manually. This is for water maker remote panels after January 1, 2020. You can also add the Unattended Automatic Fresh Water Flush Control box to this option for $525, which will upgrade you to the full option and any later date.
On Panel TDS Meter Display Option
$200
The water maker comes standard with an hour meter mounting on the remote panel. You can replace the hour meter with an on-panel TDS meter for real monitoring and display of the product water quality (TDS or Total Dissolved Solids). You can upgrade the meter to the panel at any time, even if you purchased the hour meter standard panel, without having to change the entire panel.
Automatic Product Water High TDS Divert
$395
This option allows you to automatically divert your product water if it reaches a pre-determined high total dissolved solids (TDS) level. The solenoid is used in conjunction with the on-panel TDS meter option. The TDS meter is adjustable to a pre-set level. This is usually 500 ppm which is the maximum drinking water contaminant level set by the World Health Organization.
Unattended Automatic Fresh Water Flushing with Real Time
$649
The unattended Automatic Fresh Water Flush Option simply plugs into the standard fresh water flushing system and adds a solid-state timer to open a fresh water flushing solenoid while at the same time a relay in the control box turns on the ships pressurized water system pump. The timer is easily set for both frequency and duration of the fresh water flush. Our recommended standard is once every 5 days for 7 minutes. Once you set the water maker up in Automatic Fresh Water Flushing mode and as long as you have fresh water in your ships tank, the water maker will maintain itself! No more remembering to manually fresh water flush when in a marina or nasty anchorage where you don’t want to make water. No more pickling the water maker when leaving the boat.
MAJOR ADVANTAGES
- Available in 12, 24, 48 VDC; 110 and 220 VAC 50 Hz; 115 and 230 VAC 60 Hz
- When you leave the boat, we energize your ship’s pressurized water system pump only while flushing and then turn it off. We know cruisers do not like to leave the boat with the pressurized system on when leaving the boat unattended. We are the only company that does this. All others require your pressurized system to be on.
- The control system is sealed in a NEMA 4 gasketed box unlike most others that are susceptible to corrosion
- Control Box is fully repairable for less than $100 unlike most others where you have to replace the entire system
- Timer is adjustable in seconds, minutes, hours, or days up to 100 days for both on and off pump cycles
- Will work on most all water maker models in the industry

Remote Valving and Cleaning Panel
(Only available on 20, 30, and 40 GPM Models)
$350
The water makers come standard with two 3-way valves mounted on the Activated Carbon Filter. These two control valves are on the suction side of the boost pump, so based on their position let the boost pump pull in either Sea Water, Fresh Water for a Flush or Pickling Solution.
Depending on where you mount the Activated Carbon Filter, these two valves could be more of less accessible. If your mounting location is not convenient to access, then you have two choices: Remove the two 3-way valves from the Activated Carbon filter and mount them remotely yourself OR Purchase the Optional Valving and Cleaning Panel
The Panel is made to match the standard remote panel and replaces the two 3-way valves mounted on the Activated Carbon filter with two panel mount valves. Now the controls can be mounted in an easily accessible location. Now one important note is that the boost pump is sucking in sea water through these valves, so you do have to limit the length of inlet plumbing line from the through hull – to these valves – to the boost pump inlet to 15ft max. If not, your boost pump will not be able to supply the Hp pump with enough flow of sea water.
